Lighting Installation at The Chapel of Light | Occhio

Occhio creates high-end lighting products, offering innovative designs that enable users to customize their spaces. As part of the light summit in Youyi Bay, China, Occhio invited selected architects, interior designers, and lighting planners to transform the 'Chapel of Music' into the 'Chapel of Light' with the multifaceted Luna series.

The summit explored the impact of light on architecture, design, and human interaction, held in a chapel designed by architect Dong Gong as a space for sensory experience. The centerpiece, an installation of 61 Luna sospeso spheres, illuminates the 9-meter-high meditation rotunda, blending grand architecture with delicate light. Polished concrete seating along the wall encourages visitors to pause and absorb the soothing atmosphere.

The Skylight Music Hall upstairs features a sunken stage resembling a floating disc, with brass sound tubes in the seats transmitting music into the dome. The retractable roof allows the hall to transform into an open-air theater, where the Luna series – Luna basso, sogno, parete, piena, and scura - enhances the space, creating a powerful experience.
