SHOW ME YOUROPE ARTS is a contest organized by the students of the Executive Master in communication and European politics at IHECS Academy in Brussels. This year, the 2017-2018 team is organizing the third edition of SMY ARTS: “Designs for European Democracy”.

SHOW ME YOUROPE ARTS 3rd Edition gives you the opportunity to express your vision on European democracy by participating in a design competition. The objective of this contest is to make your voice heard as a European citizen. Show us in an artistic way your own representation of European democracy.

Art and Placemaking in Communities of Color

Join the Mattapan Cultural Arts Development (MCAD), Powerful Pathways Consulting, and the BSA Foundation for an interactive community conversation on arts, design, and placemaking. Through presentations, breakout discussions, and a mini-charrette, attendees will explore how design thinking can be applied in making inclusive communities and demonstrate how one of MCAD’s current projects engages the neighborhood in creative civic activity and advocacy.

Steven Holl: "Architecture Needs to be Rekindled with the Other Arts"

Referencing architecture's intimate past with the arts, Steven Holl argues the importance of collaborating with other artists for the benefit of the profession alongside choreographer and dancer Jessica Lang. "If we don't intermix the arts and collaborate, we are going to close... The arts are going to fade out individually. We are stronger together."

Imagine 2020: Denver Launches Arts-First Public Policy

The City of Denver has launched “Imagine 2020,” a pro-arts cultural plan that will pave the way for more city-wide “art opportunities” over the next seven years. According to the Denver Post, this initiative will include the revision of “plans, permits and codes” to allow for more installations, offer small micro-art grants for residents and neighborhoods, and establish large public gathering places throughout the city.
