The Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) Rethink the City. New Approaches to Global and Local Urban Challenges, is a free online course taught by the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment of Delft University of Technology. The course starts on May, 2nd, 2018. The first version of the course received the Excellence in Teaching Award 2017 bestowed by AESOP (Association of European Schools of Planning).

86 Festival of Film and Urbanism (9th-13th May 2018) is an annual festival that takes places in the city of Slavutych, the city built to re-house the workers of Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and their families after the explosion in 1986. Different Soviet Republics were invited to build a district in Slavutych, which upon completion were named accordingly - Vilnius, Riga, Moscow, Baku etc.

The ArkDesFellowship offers practitioners, spatial thinkers, and researchers operating in or around the fields of architecture and design opportunities for interdisciplinary research at ArkDes, the Swedish Centre for Architecture and Design. Archistart promotes the second Architectural Thesis Award, the international thesis award, launched with the aim of promoting, rewarding and giving visibility to young talents in architecture. A call for entries is now being made for the Tenth European Prize for Urban Public Space, 2018. Since 2000 this biennial honorific award has aimed to recognise, promote and publicise examples of good practice in dealing with the many challenges faced by public spaces in European cities. The Prize aims to support the open, compact city of universal access, guaranteeing harmonious coexistence among its citizens, a mixture of uses, and sustainable mobility, preserving the historical memory of places, and favouring participation of citizens in projects designing shared spaces.
The award ceremony for the Prix Versailles, the world architecture award for stores, hotels, and restaurants, will be held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France, on 15 May 2018.
