Solid Douglas Wood Floor in Studio Nylenne | Dinesen

Solid Douglas wood flooring from Dinesen was used in the studio of artist Anne-Karin Furunes. Situated just outside of Trondheim in Norway, the newly built studio has a cabin design at a larger scale. Aiming to enhance its surroundings, the building uses natural materials with an exposed timber truss system.

Building Design

The exterior of the building has a warm, blackish-brown color to create a discreet appearance. The interior of the space is reminiscent of the interiors of an old Viking ship. The room is designed with large proportions to create a beautiful setting for the art. Broad shafts of light fall through the panorama window facing the water.

Douglas Floor

The selected Douglas wood flooring from Dinesen offers a light finish for an airy feel. The 7-meter-long planks allow the natural light to bounce off with slight shadows.

Anne-Karin Furunes uses light and shadows as essential instruments in her art, and thus, the studio forms an optimal workspace. Here, the artworks are able to unfold fully to tell their story from every angle.
