Glue laminated timber tends to offer limited possibilities regarding the component width; this is due to the limited width of raw timber. For constructions under high static load, market standard widths tend to be insufficient. Therefore, HESS TIMBER glues together timber construction parts and other composite sections to create so-called blocks which are developed according to individual project requirements in cooperation with planners and engineers.
For larger component widths, it is possible to glue together two or more glued laminated beams to a solid block. This is the classic method. Depending on the project and the respective component requirements HESS TIMBER also produces sections made up of lamellas arranged in a staggered manner.
Advantages
- Flexible component widths
- Aesthetically appealing
- Design and geometric flexibility
- Increased fire resistance due to the dimension
