Cymat Technologies provided 185m2 of Alusion™ ALFG-12.7-LG-2S stabilized aluminum foam panels for the 1300m2 IT office located in the historical center of Kyiv.
Cymat’s Aluminum Foam, marketed under the trade name of Alusion™ for architecture, is a versatile material with virtually limitless design and architectural applications. Along with its unique appearance, it has sound-absorbing properties making it ideal for applications requiring both sound absorption and beauty.
Program
The meeting rooms and recreation areas are used as lounges for holding business meetings of top management teams to contribute to the success of the business. Noisy parties are held without disturbing the neighboring rooms thanks to the sound-absorbing properties of the aluminum foam. The complex use of the technical capabilities in the recreation/lounge area allows the transformation of the meeting room for various functions:
- Meeting room
- Living room
- Bar
- Nightclub
Lighting
Alusion™ was applied in the CEO's lounge and meeting rooms. The architect compensated for the lack of natural light by applying light screens using stabilized aluminum foam to achieve the effect of natural lighting in the recreation area. The mesh structure of the foam reflects and transmits light randomly. Various light effects can give the appearance of sunlight passing through the foliage or a starry sky. The RGBW LED lights have adjustable brightness and a wide color palette.

Stabilized Aluminum Foam: Properties
- 100% recyclable, and contains up to 100% recycled content
- Acoustic Absorption Properties
- Non-Combustible with a flame spread of zero
- Highly corrosion resistant
- The strength, durability, and resilience of aluminum
- Wind load resistance of up to 356 km per hour (221 miles)
Alusion™'s foam creates strong yet lightweight panels. Similar in appearance to a metallic sponge, it is produced for architecture applications in three densities:
- Large Cell
Open on both sides making it translucent, and more reflective than other densities. - Mid Cell
- Small Cell
The various versions of Alusion™ can be utilized for both interior and exterior applications. The panels are produced by injecting air into molten aluminum, which contains a fine dispersion of ceramic particles. These particles stabilize the bubbles formed by the air. The surface of the material is either left in its solid form, as produced, or undergoes surface preparations that provide many different appearances from a solid surface “shimmering” look to a translucent “water froth” look
