The Fagus Factory is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage which now includes the modern Fagus-GreCon Customer Centre. The new (almost) rectangular, two-story customer center is a wooden structure that includes offices, training rooms and meeting rooms with room for 60 company employees.
EGGER wood-based products were used in the predominately wood-based design of the inside of the building. The complete, exposed skeleton as well as large parts of the interior furnishings, were done with beech veneer laminate.
The architects put forward a vision of responsible handling of material and raw material which lead to the choice EGGER OSB for its sustainable credentials. 2,780 m2 of high-quality EGGER OSB 4 TOP was used for ceiling panels in a glued double layer, and 680 m2 EGGER OSB 3 boards were used for the inside walls. OSB boards are multilayer boards with a three-layer structure of micro-veneers or strands, which are approved for load-bearing construction.
