AZURE announces the opening of submissions to the 2020 AZ Awards!
Now entering its 10th year, the AZ Awards celebrates the best in architecture and design from around the world. Each winner will receive the AZ Awards trophy, get international exposure through our media partners, and have their achievements recognized by AZURE in print, online and at the AZ Awards gala in June 2020.
The AZ Awards is open to architects, interior designers, landscape architects, product designers, industrial designers, experimental graphic designers, product manufacturers and students in design-related disciplines.

Architects, designers and sheet metal contractors are invited to submit their copper building projects for the 2020 North American Copper in Architecture (NACIA) awards program. The program recognizes and promotes architectural copper and copper alloy structures in North America. Eligible projects must feature a significant application of architectural copper, be located in the North America and have been completed within the past three years.
Winners will receive a custom copper plaque featuring an etching of their award-winning project. Projects will be featured on the Copper Development Association’s website and promoted in various publications.

The School of Architecture at the University of Illinois at Chicago is now accepting applications for the 2020–21 Douglas A. Garofalo Fellowship. Named in honor of the architect and educator Doug Garofalo (1958–2011), the nine-month fellowship provides emerging designers the opportunity to teach design studio and seminar courses and conduct independent research, culminating in a public lecture at the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts and an exhibition or public conversation at the school.

From Beaux-Arts to Bauhaus, and the polytechnic schools to the present-day schools, paradigms of design education have shifted and evolved, each experimenting with different pedagogical philosophies and methodologies, relevant to their context. How are the contemporary pedagogy modeled and structured? What are the methods explored and experimented, and why? How are the contemporary design educations align with the shifting topography of culture and environment? What are the emerging opportunities of design education within today’s social, cultural and ecological context?
New Generations is an international platform analysing the work of some of the most innovative emerging architects in the European territory. So far, more than 300 emerging practices and more than 500 other experts have been involved in its cultural agenda, including festivals, video-interviews, satellite research projects, exhibitions, publications and other public events.
