Text description provided by the architects. At territorial scale, this building recalls agricultural archetypes, sometimes isolated in broad landscapes, and reinterprets their materiality: steel and wood. The multifunctional hall becomes a new landmark, leading the development of the south of the town.
The design of the building is ruled by three major entries:
- Implantation according to bioclimatic principles and defined by the sun's path
- Offering wide views on the Vosges
- Organizing equipment to manage noise disturbance
The compact volume improves thermal performance of the building (BBC). The whole envelope (cover and walls) is made out of zinc. This refined and sober skin allows rapid identification of the equipment located below the county road. At the south, the main hall opens itself up to the mountain: “Les Vosges”, extending the interior space to the outside landscape.
