Text description provided by the architects. Chiangmai Life Construction, based in northern Thailand, designs and builds modern, organic architecture using mainly earth and bamboo as construction materials. The company’s philosophy is to bring these natural materials into the 21st century, with light and clean organic designs and up-to-date engineering knowledge. CLC strives for a balance of beauty, quality and affordability.
Trika Villa is a luxury 425 sqm residence with 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a big living/dining room connected to a covered outdoor living space around the integrated pool, a modern kitchen and store rooms, entirely built of natural, sustainable materials, at the same time providing all comforts of modern living with the added factor of “built-in” atmosphere.
The whole roof is made of bamboo with a tar sheet sandwiched between the bamboo shingles for rain protection and insulation, creating open, naturally ventilated spaces. The walls are made of adobe bricks with a very fine earth finishing, the floor is partly rammed earth, partly a clay-concrete mix. An original Indian door gives the whole project its oriental touch. Trika Villa is a tropical sanctuary with modern luxury that surrounds you with nature inside and outside.
