Text description provided by the architects. The unique Livinhome design has flexibility at its core and can be easily customised using different designs and layouts to reflect personal choice and life changes. There are a number of standard layouts onto which a range of exteriors and interiors can be fitted, reflecting the owners’ design / life choices.
The three principle plan layouts are easily modified to create a range of alternative accommodation arrangements. Its flexibility allows for change to occur with minimum physical intervention resulting in an increase in the ability of individuals and communities to recycle and re-use their housing assets.
Density and urban form: Livinhome offers low-rise, high density housing that maintains a good relationship with street. The design is transferable, scalable and is suitable for single houses through to urban blocks.
Flexibility and adaptability: Livinhome allows alterations and additions to accommodate different life patterns and lifecycles. It can also change its use to adapt to an evolving urban or commercial context.
Variable appearance: Livinhome offers variable building form and elevation designs to suit different contexts. Construction and sustainability – the house is designed for traditional or modern methods of construction with CSH Level 4 as a minimum.
Design Standards: Livinhome is suitable for public and private housing. It is designed to meet London Plan Housing Design Guide, Lifetime Homes, and Secured by Design, Building for Life, the Code for Sustainable Homes. Design standards can me modified to meet specific project needs.
Sustainable Communities: Livinhome makes a strong contribution to the role of housing in creating and maintaining sustainable communities. It does this by creating a flexible model for accommodation that can change from a house, to duplexes, to single apartments or even offices and shops.
Livinhome houses cater for inclusion, changes in society particularly an ageing population whose homes can be adapted to suit lifestyle change. Its flexibility allows modifications to the house to occur with minimum physical intervention resulting in reduced displacement for individuals and communities.
Healthcare in the home: Healthcare and well-being in the home is central to Livinhome. The design of our homes reflects the integration of healthcare, including End of Life Care, into the home.
