Text description provided by the architects. Placed in an inconspicuous street with regular buildings around it, the house turns itself looking inside at a generous patio situated in the first floor. This patio is the main character of the space, with all the main spaces in the house facing it. The patio separates also the public from the private spaces containing the main bedroom/wardrobe/bathroom which is, moreover, in a different level.
In the second floor, the piece split up in two volumes which, in order to obtain the optimum sun exposure and ventilation, take advantage of the back courtyard, the facade and the main patio. Both volumes are articulated by means of a ramp crossing over the void of the living room connecting them, and creating meanwhile interesting walks and generous architectural experiences coming from this movement.
In one end of the ramp we find the library and the study, in the other, the bedrooms of the children who can thus get autonomy in the whole of the house and who can also take advantage of the terrace which expands the dimensions of the patio. This terrace adds new uses and experiences of the space and the entire house.
