Text description provided by the architects. The rainy city of Curanilahue possesses an irregular and disordered urban fabric, that shows its origin as a miners’ encampment.-
The 27F earthquake devastated the establishment that is famous by its junior orchestra.-
Without any constructions, this ground is shown to us as a balcony to the city and to the surrounding landscape.- This condition is taken, and the space gets liberated to the ground level through elevated bridges. That way, a big plaza with uneven slopes begins to conform. The plaza allows, on one side, to shelter the community when it rains, and by the other, to develop public and private programmes.
Its wooden and aired facade reduces energy costs, but also portrays the wooden aesthetic, which is very proper from the zone.-
This public-private effort will help not only to the scholar community, but to the citizenship that has a great need of public spaces.
