Text description provided by the architects. The project consisted in building a weekend house for the owner’s family, with the posibility to invite a lot of guests, so it has to consider at least 16 beds.
The proyect is located in Casablanca, which is a 50 minutes trip from Santiago in direction to the coast.
The house is situated on the highest área of the terrain. From this área you can appreciate a clear view of the valley , between the existing vegetation.
The condition of viewpoint between the trees, is the main guideline of the proyect. The house was placed between Quillayes, so as to protect it from the sun, creating a boundary between the rooms and the valley.
In order to have iluminated spaces, all the rooms were distribuited around a central patio. The house is also divided into two levels. The public level is in constant relation with the exterior, while downstairs, the bedrooms are in a more intimate and quiet place.
On the upper level, to the south, you can find the kitchen equipped with a dining room, to the west, the family room, to the north, the dining room with view to the valley, living room and the master bedroom, to the east, 2 guests room. On the ground floor, to the north, there is a long corridor with 4 bedrooms.
Reinforced concrete and reinforced brickwork. The exterior coating is painted Northway cement tables, placed horizontally. This material protects the house from sun exposure and requires low maintenance.
