"La fromagerie du passage " is located in the historical district of Aix-en-Provence, in the center of an ancient Benedictine cloister. This "concept store" marries the world of wine and cheese. Sales areas and tasting will showcase the two “Meilleurs Ouvriers de France” in charge of refining and wine selection: a sustainable and informed consumption of these two products.
3 levels in a local and contemporary spirit:
1. The ground floor retail space includes a cheese area that facing the exhibition and sale of wine area. Soil treatment (concrete tiles of simple geometric shape) was essential to unite this space and give it a strong identity from the street.
2 first floor mezzanine, offers two dining areas: a long counter directly above the double height ceiling and a long table d'hôte, which is divided according to the requirements of the service in the dining room. The counter, wide wooden balcony allows structuring the composition of the facade and interior reinforces the perception of this level from the street.
3. The top floor has allowed the establishment of a terrace on the roofs of Aix en Provence.
Each component of furniture (shelves sale, tables, maturing cellar, showcases sale ...) have been specifically created to optimize their use and respond to the technical demands of cheesemakers and winemakers.
