Text description provided by the architects. A LANDSCAPE SITE
The project Guidicelli house is located on a hilly and wooded land at the foot of the mountain Albères. Large landscape qualities of the site have guided our approach to the project following three principles : • A north-south axis that articulates the different landscape units: the oak grove south and the river, in the center a meadow, orchard north. A report on the ground that respects the natural lines of slope of the land The landscaping around the house (terraces, pergolas, footboards ...) that link the project to the existing afforestation.
IMPLEMENTATION This house of 288 m2 is part of the slope by a sets of garden terraces. The choice is made to locate the house on the edge of the oak, and to link them at the different landscape units. The house takes fully into account the characteristics of the existing ground and just fit into the natural contours of the site, thus minimizing earthworks.Attached to the upper part of the ground, it grows on one level which allows to integrate naturally parking in the volume of the guest room to the south.
ARCHITECTURE AND LANDSCAPE The house is built around a central linear body marking the north-south axis from which grow two volumes to the west and east. This north-south link takes the form of a gateway to reach the guest room, and extends north to the pool. The breakdown of volumes of the house allows the forest to slip, thereby mitigating the overall impact.
MATERIALS Attention has been paid to the choice of building materials, in line with the site. Facing brick clay from the local brickworks, trellises larch.
