Text description provided by the architects. Housing solution for a typical suburban family house plot.
This house was designed for a young family, the main idea is to make it efficient by using the maximum space of a small lot with 8 meters in the front. It has load-bearing walls on the sides with precast concrete slabs placed with a crane in the construction site.
The lot was chosen to benefit the most useful areas with a north orientation: living room, dining room and the master room.
In the low floor the main entrance is located in the corner of the living room, making a first impression of “more in less”, with no columns and beams that limit the space. This area melts with the outside garden and the pool. By opening the glassed doors we integrate the covered outdoor and the interior so used in tropical weather.
The upper level has a master bedroom and a wide area use as a one big bedroom (for kids when they are little) or 2 small bedrooms (when the kids required independence) both zones share the toilet area. The top floor has a multifunctional space with a toilet area, than can be used for guest, a productive activity, or as an extra room if it is necessary.
Materials are expressed apparent, local precast concrete block in walls, apparent concrete slabs in ceilings and polish cement floors. This house aims to be an exercise in economy in tropical detached houses.
