Text description provided by the architects. The building is approached from rationality, which is present in the in urban planning, constructive conception from a prefabricated concrete structure or standardized materials that close the building: aluminum and polycarbonate. We proposed to the Property and to the town council the modification of the current urban development plan to eliminate the basement and lift one floor above the ground. Thus, the building could ventilate naturally avoiding CO2 extraction. This decision brought the obligation to open facades. The volume is in a rectangular parcel with two overlapping orders, the first is an opaque plinth with human scale, a big bench in the buses dock, with occasional openings for access of vehicles and people. The upper order, with an aluminum façace, is a large prism which cantilevers above the bus dock creating a waiting shelter with a translucent blue skylight.
The access to the parking is located on the main road of the University Campus, while the exit is in the opposite façade, leading to the road that runs to the North of the plot. The 1.5m height difference between these two roads is solved with inclined slabs, being the resultant gradient slightly lower than 1.5%, which helps evacuating rainwater. Internally the building is organised based on a structural grid with a standard section of 6.9 x 15.8m. In each of the 15.8m sections there is a central road and parking spaces to both sides of this, without pillars between vehicles. There are four stairwells, one in each of the façades of the building, that solve the vertical communications. In the roof there is a shelter, with a blue and translucent cover, which follows the incline of the ramps that it protects.
