Text description provided by the architects. F11 house is located on a slight slope on the northern outskirts of Aalen. The entrance floor consists of of reinforced concrete, which cuts into the hillside on the south side.
On the concrete base stands a wood frame construction with cedar shingles square-wise. Four cubic volume are cut out the wood construction, each forming outside protected areas (Green Rooms).
The courtyards of the cut out spaces obtain with the white plaster another materiality oft he facade. Inside the wooden structure, all wall and ceiling surfaces painted white and assist the spatial effect in the interior and the interplay between interior and exterior. Sliding doors create different space situations.
The central space with its voids connects rooms such as living, cooking, eating, playing both horizontally and vertically.
