Text description provided by the architects. GouweZone is a sustainable office complex in Gouda for the luxury rental sector that is part of 'Gouwe Poort', a mixed industrial estate in the heart of the Randstad. The city of Gouda wants to transform this area into a desirable office location that will be named one of the top ten of Dutch business and office parks.
GouweZone is one of the first concrete projects of this restructuring. The complex consists of three building sections sitting atop a common underground parking garage. The office buildings are variations of one another, as if themed. Subtly different from each other in appearance and construction. Using the latest techniques to reduce energy consumption and create flexibility and multiple usability.
The three building sections have flexible layouts and provide room for their own identity and character. New façade technologies, CCA and LED lighting reduce the energy use by about 45 percent and reduce CO2 emissions by as much as 80 percent. Cooling and heating storage and installations for generating solar power and wind power make the building energy neutral. Developer and building manager, Ericis adviseurs & managers, calls this form of sustainable development ‘Positive Building’. The high quality, technology, image and comfort leads to a new generation of working environments, ready for a long and valuable life.
