This infill development is surrounded by industrial and civic uses; therefore, our master plan placed the buildings on the perimeter of the site to create a strong set of edges and to form a protected central garden space providing a serene and secure oasis for the senior community.
The project was funded by an ARRA Capital Fund Recovery Competition grant from HUD which came with strict Buy American Act, UFAS and Enterprise Green Community guidelines. The project is the first NetZero, Fossil Fuel Free, LEED Platinum senior housing project in the United States.
