Text description provided by the architects. Nestled within the fertile hills of the emerging wine region of Paso Robles, California, this boutique winery specializes in a wide variety of wines and olive oil. The architecture of the building draws upon the existing residence that sits atop a hill on the property.
The building itself is partially buried into the hillside to maintain cool temperatures and the exterior skin is composed of vertical steel panels and caged stone excavated directly from the site.
The program for the winery consists of storage for barrels and cased goods as well as a public tasting room with views into the barrel and processing area.
