Text description provided by the architects. The intervention takes place in a park in which expectations for the original project did not obtain the estimated reactions, leaving as a consequence a marginal area without treatment greater than the concrete pavement without an intention or use. The situation is due to the lack of maintenance in the urban furniture and equipment. There is a lack of recreational areas.
The project seeks the recovery of this area through the incorporation of dynamic and active elements. The original pavement is removed and replaced by a more natural treatment, adding an important number of natural elements and plants.
It is important to note the railway character of the place, given its past. A series of old buildings and equipment left by the railway line are integrated by a cultural use. The intervention considers a complementary role to these uses.
Three elements respond to the initial ideas: a small podium with a stage, a kiosk and a prairie plant as a connection to the rest of the park, adding a tree mass.
Both for the tribune and the stage as for the urban furniture, existing elements of the place were used. 80% of the pavement has been recycled from the demolition and the old seats have been restored.
