Text description provided by the architects. Exhibitions: Exhibition “Contextes". Catalunya & Balears Pavilion on the 2012 Bienniald' Architecture of Venezia. Curatedby Jordi Badia & Felix Arranz. The Aristides Maillol Municipal Sports Complexin the Les Corts district next to the Camp Nou, the Barça Stadium. It consists of a football field with artificial grass and an exterior multi sport field covered with a steel structure pergola. The requirements for the new pavilion are an access control, an administration, two new group changing rooms, stores, technical installations areas, referee changing rooms and a bar-café. All concentrate in one side of the multi sport field.
The project comes together around this program in a compact rectangular volume with perforated metal and lacquer façade except the two ends which are solved by curtain walls façade. To protect against vandalism the lacquered perforated metal sheet was chosen. It protects the glazed sections and generates an abstract visual perception of the building. The prism of the new changing rooms, despite being an isolated volume, seeks the same height as the existing changing rooms, and therefore completes the service base facilities of the sports complex.
