Text description provided by the architects. Wotif Group is a leading online travel brand in the Asia Pacific Region. Since their launch in 2000, the company has grown to more than 450 staff in 13 countries. Wotif were interested in a new head office that considered staff interaction as part of creating a vibrant workspace. The concept of a town square and laneways were used as a planning idea and zones of engagement.
The town square acts as reception, an open meeting space, lunch room and event space. Communal facilities such as photocopiers, notice boards, water coolers, toilets and filing are all accessed via the laneways. Everyday activities draw staff into the laneways where random interactions take place.
The existing structure was stripped back to the concrete structure. The new work complements the raw aesthetic. The fitout includes Unifor workstations, custom joinery, custom timber acoustic ceiling panels, fish tanks and a commercial kitchen.
