In a residential area in Lanškroun, Czechia, Martin Neruda designed a new atrium ground-floor house in place of a demolished two-story terraced house. The client‘s wish was to live in close contact with the garden. The new house consists of a cascade of interior and outdoor spaces that follow the gently sloping terrain of the south-facing plot. The main part of the house is separated from the street by translucent polycarbonate volumes of the garage and garden storage.

Yoga Shala / Thumbimpressions
Concept of Yogashala. ‘Yogashala’ is designed to facilitate the convening of yoga practitioners by offering a clear, fluid, free, and uninterrupted spatial container of around 78 feet span. As the practice of Hatha yoga employs minimum force in attaining a posture, thereby instilling a sense of lightness in the body, the architecture too uses spaced bamboo in a system that exemplifies its lightness, while still spanning significantly.
House TO / Ludwig Godefroy Architecture
Casa TO is located in La Punta Zicatela, a place on the Pacific coast of golden sunsets, where the sea, the sand, and the cliffs form a unique panorama. A discreet oasis of unusual architecture to immerse yourself in a state of absolute reflection.
Noland Hair Salon / loeserbettels Design Studio
Salon Noland is located in the lively neighborhood of Leipzig-Reudnitz. For this reason, the room was deliberately designed to be exciting: strong colors alternate dynamically with different materials and textures.
Garden House / Baracco+Wright Architects
This experimental and ‘sometimes’ house on Boon Wurrung land was conceived through the inclusion of it in the repair of the site’s ecosystem. Its architecture is one of the relationships that revisit the project of a theory of space, this time in the terms of its physical place and the life supported there. It is made with a mix of industrialized elements (the steel frame) and handmade (timber frame) without concern with itself and its modes of making. The thinnest of physical boundaries (perhaps fabric is thinner), polycarbonate sheet, maintains transparency otherwise displaced by a building for the sustaining of life, rather than architecture’s own terms of the material theory of transparency.
Oblique Extension House / DHZ arquitectura
The Oblique Extension House comes from the need of the owners to recover a disused terrace of the master bedroom and generate a new deck on the ground floor.
Industrialized House rNrH / Juan Marco arquitectos
The house is located on a plot of land with a steep slope, in the Barranco de Soterraña, a natural water course, near Valencia. We developed an idea of an industrialized, fragmented, and unplugged house, integrating passive systems and self-generation of energy.
House in Nagoya / Takashi Okuno & Associates
To create a residence with a sense of calm, with its privacy from surroundings maintained, the plan seeks to enclose the garden space. To moreover diversify and enrich the interconnection between inside and out, several dwelling spaces are incorporated into the design, characterized by varying senses of distance from the garden.
Lakeside Theatre / Hexia Architects + MADAM
The Ginkgo Swan Lake is located in the Xiushui New District of Jiaxing. Based on a natural environment with abundant water resources, the project integrates the local rich traditional culture. Camino de Santiago Trek French Arrival Ramp / CREUSeCARRASCO Arquitectos
The entrance of the “Camino de Santiago” into the city meets between the sacred hill “Monte do Gozo” and the high-speed infrastructures that surround it. Until now, a long and steep staircase solved this slope, built following the lines of the tracks, breaking the continuity of the route and making accessibility difficult for people, preventing mobility in a wheelchair, bicycle, or on horseback.
Mono House / Patio Estudio
The house is located on the end of a sloped neighborhood, on a place that borders a native forest; in contrast, the land where the house is located is flat, with no vegetation or gradients.
Pasiddhi House / Rojkind Arquitectos + Agustín Pereyra + Inocente Colectivo
In the Pasiddhi house, a traditional architectural program for housing becomes a project of itineraries. Everything happens through the stairs and circulations contained in a solid labyrinthine volume with multiple accesses where its route moves in the shadows only illuminated by overhead light entrances.
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly Artist's Studio / Didier Fiúza Faustino
A studio building conceived as an architectural tool for the French conceptual artist — and friend of Fiúza Faustino — Jean-Luc Moulène.
Tsuruoka House / Kiyoaki Takeda Architects
Ingrained Artefacts Growth. Now, a balance between organisms and artifacts is at the crossover point. I encountered an article published in a scientific journal titled “Global human-made mass exceeds all living biomass” (Nature: published online 9th December 2020). According to the article, human-made artifacts referred to as anthropogenic mass has begun to surpass all global living biomass. Furthermore, it is reported that the dominant cause of this trend is construction materials. This condition implies it has reached a limit to keep generating the “architecture solely for humans” produced so far. In this context, what would be the role of architecture, a human dwelling?
Casa del Sapo / Espacio 18 Arquitectura
Two years two months and two days, the writer Henry David Thoreau lived in a cabin which he built himself in Walden Pond, Massachusetts, his childhood town. In just about a space of 3 m x 4.5 meters lakeside, he developed himself as an individual isolated from society looking for inspiration of the natural and its origins. His time at the cabin, let him valued what it’s really necessary and the respect of life itself which leads him to renovate himself as a human and fight on social subjects at the end of his life. This means it's funny how the toad is different when it enters than when it leaves the pond.
CH73 House / LBR&A
Bosques de las Lomas in Mexico City was conceived as a Residential district within a forested area. The clumsy architectural development has deforested the hills, transforming the forest into rooftops, streets, and concrete platforms with gardened areas, draining their rainwater into the municipal sewer system, reducing the natural water infiltration into the soil, destroying the original flora and fauna of the site. The property adjoins a federal reserve land, deforested due to the architectural development and the mismanagement of the authorities.
Pampa House / RMK Arquitetura
Located in the city of Pelotas, in the extreme south of Brazil, Casa Pampa proposes a dialogue between the meeting southern and tropical cultures. The geographical proximity between Rs, Uruguay, and Argentina, the hostile climate, and the pastoral care forge common traces between these locations in the south of South America.
