Where do our building materials come from and are they made with fair labor?

The Pool series of four exhibitions, to be opened at the Aalto2 Museum Centre on 18 May 2024, will bring together Alvar Aalto’s architectural heritage, international skateboarding culture, and rap and hip hop culture. The three exhibitions themed around skateboarding are linked by the design of the swimming pool at the Villa Mairea, by Alvar Aalto, and its impact on international skateboarding culture.

The 39:39 edition of Camposaz will be in collaboration with Urbana Cooperativa Sociale, the promoter of the In-Mobility project which develops the themes of urban regeneration, sustainable mobility and social animation in 5 high schools in the Province of Vicenza. The objective of the workshop is to create 5 hubs based on a modular system which will be installed in the schools involved in the project. The hubs will have a social aggregation function, support for sustainable mobility (bike repair station) and teaching. The themes will be better defined by the outputs obtained during the workshops conducted with the students as part of the project's training course.

Since 2012, when the first ROB|ARCH conference was held, the role of robotics in creative practices and manufacturing industries has grown, shifted, and evolved. Robots are no longer a shiny novelty restricted to niche research proposals but are now a fundamental technical tool for interfacing between digital and physical worlds.

Launched on March 22nd, 2024, the IFLA GSP is a first step into integrating global landscape architecture academia. This program ties together 4 charettes associated with major LA events across 4 IFLA regions with the objective of R&D regarding (1) LA future leadership and (2) a global network of LA education institutions.

The Association for Public Art and the Parkway Council, in partnership with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, are thrilled to announce an Open Call for Art on the Parkway. This is a juried competition that asks applicants to propose a temporary public art installation in Maja Park that will be on exhibit for approximately three months as part of the annual summer Oval festival. Proposers are asked to explore the ways in which art can help create and define a sense of place. The selected artist will receive an all-inclusive award of $15,000.

The Ken Roberts Memorial Delineation Competition (KRob) has celebrated the best in architectural delineation for 50 years. A Dallas classic that has received international recognition, KRob honors hand and digital delineation by professionals and students throughout the world. Averaging over 400 entries from 25 countries in the past several years, the competition’s visibility continues to grow.
