AFC provides durable and versatile fiber cement solutions for a variety of architectural applications. The Chamizal Recreation Center and Library in El Paso, TX, used AFC’s Patina fiber cement panels to enhance its design while providing resistance to weather conditions.

This community development project seeks to create an uplifting space offering a variety of recreational and educational facilities in one of the city's most economically challenged areas of the city. The Chamizal Recreation Center and Library has a double gymnasium, a cardio weights room, an auxiliary gymnasium, a game space, a multi-purpose fitness area, a public library, and a multi-purpose community room. The center also features a covered courtyard and a parking lot.

The Patina high-density fiber cement panels were selected for their ability to withstand El Paso's extreme weather conditions, offering durability and low maintenance. The exterior design features a back-lit mural by artist Jesus “CIMI” Alvarado, celebrating El Paso's rich cultural heritage and serving as a source of community pride. This vibrant design not only enhances the building's aesthetic appeal but also symbolizes the community's commitment to preserving its history and culture.
