Mardegan Legno is Superfici d’Autore (signature surfaces)—their products are hand-crafted by artisans using wood sourced from sustainably managed forests with more than 140 colors to choose from. Wooden flooring from Mardegan Legno's Barricati collection was used in the Camilluccia Apartment, located in Rome, Italy.
The 180-square-meter apartment is surrounded by greenery in northern Rome, at the foothills of Monte Mario. The project aimed to complete a renovation and create continuity between the interior and surrounding natural environment in ways that were aesthetic and functional.

One of the apartment's main features is the flooring: thermally treated oak parquet in the shade Dolcetto Barricato. Extending throughout the entire apartment, oak adds warmth and provides a harmonious foundation to the overall design. The parquet pairs with black window frames and contrasts the luminous white of the kitchen and the deep green of the living area.
The living area, conceived as a large central space reminiscent of an agora, features futuristic furniture, including a crystal dining table and poufs with abstract shapes. The iconic centerpiece of this space is a 1962 Ami Continental jukebox, positioned along the axis of the entrance door, serving as a focal point of the apartment. The corridors are lined with large bronzed mirrors, amplifying the perception of space and reflecting the parquet's warm tones, creating a sophisticated atmosphere.
The entrance wall, adjacent to the kitchen, is decorated with fabric wallpaper in warm shades of orange and green, evoking a lunar landscape. From here, a large glass opening visually connects the dining area with the kitchen, where a large central island in bright white CORIAN dominates. The parquet flooring unifies the entire project, complementing the interplay between design and nature.
