Timber Battens in Co-op Live | Sculptform

Sculptform manufactures modular wall, ceiling and facade systems that help designers realize their creative vision. Sculptform's Timber Clip-On Battens were used in the UK's largest indoor area, Co-op Live, Located in Manchester.

Designed by Jump Studios to optimize live music experiences for audiences and create an impactful venue, they prioritized acoustics and sustainability. The FSC-certified American Oak Click-On Battens were selected for the project as they met the criteria and added visual interest to the design.

Sustainability:

Incorporating solar panels, rainwater harvesting, and zero waste to landfill, the arena’s sustainable ethos perfectly complements Sculptform’s FSC-certified timber products. Click-On Battens combine sophistication, eco-conscious design, and visual appeal, enhancing spaces while prioritizing environmental responsibility.

Blue Timber Battens:

The Cîroc Lounge & Seat Unique Deck Suite feature Sculptform’s dome-profile Click-On Battens across the ceiling and walls. These timber battens complement the lounge’s vibrant blue lighting and circular neon elements, crafting a dynamic yet refined ambiance. Functionally, the battens enhance acoustic performance, ensuring clarity in the lively, high-energy space.

Acoustic performance:

The Decibel Club features Sculptform’s block-profile Click-On Battens, blending geometric precision with black acoustic backing for a bold, contemporary look. Click-On Battens enhance sound clarity, making the space ideal for private events and performances.

Acoustically, Click-On Timber Battens excel due to wood’s natural ability to reduce echo and reverberation. The cellular structure of timber transforms sound energy into heat through vibration and internal friction, providing superior sound-dampening properties.
