Dinesen crafts solid and engineered wooden planks for flooring, paneling and ceilings for private residences and public and cultural spaces. Layers Douglas by Dinesen is a collection of engineered wooden floors that reflect the same high quality as Dinesen plank floors. Each plank is made with a three-layer construction from solid wood, providing all the natural characteristics of a wooden floor while delivering the benefits of an engineered solution.
Layers Douglas is made entirely from Douglas fir, featuring a top layer of the finest solid Douglas fir, with the second and third layers consisting of solid Douglas or finger-jointed Douglas offcuts from solid plank production.
Random lengths
Each plank is crafted to be as long as possible to ensure the utilization of raw wood. The planks can be delivered in various random lengths. The effect of random plank lengths is a natural, fluid transition between rooms.
Douglas Fir
Dinesen Layers Douglas is crafted from raw wood sourced from family-owned forests in the Black Forest and other parts of Europe, sustainably managed for generations. Douglas firs are harvested at 80 to 120 years old, with careful selection based on posture, height, and age to ensure quality and durability. The planks are made from wood taken from the lower 15 meters of the tree, while the remaining wood is used elsewhere. These mature trees demonstrate resilience and stability, resulting in finished floors that last as long as the trees from which they come, thanks to a meticulous selection process and exceptional craftsmanship.
