Tulip Umbrellas at Lake Tegernsee | MDT-tex

MDT designs, manufactures and supplies innovative, high-quality sun protection systems, membrane constructions, and textile outdoor architecture to customers worldwide. Type E Tulip Umbrellas from MDT were used at Lake Tegernsee, located in Germany.

MDT's umbrellas were installed at Terrassenhof beer garden to provide shelter over the outdoor terrace—protecting visitors from the sun, heat and rain. The Tulip Umbrella offers both functionality and aesthetic appeal. Inspired by a tulip, it features a rising flower shape allowing rainwater to be collected and drained between the Plexiglas cover and the umbrella pole. The silver-colored textile compliments the surrounding natural environment in summer and winter.

The Tulip Umbrellas at Terrassenhof are 6 x 6 m and form a covered area of 216 m2. They can withstand wind speeds of up to 100 km/h making them particularly suitable to natural areas such as this one.
