Green Furniture Concept provide modular seating and lighting solutions for public space interiors, with a focus on sustainability and connection to nature. Nova C modular seating by Green Furniture Concept was used in Keflavik International Airport, located in Reykjavík, Iceland.
Nova C seating was selected for the airport's welcoming hall— approximately 400 meters including isles that 5 million people pass through each year. Due to the modular seating's flexible and fluid design, 240 seats in the shape of waves were implemented in the space. With its curved lines and natural materials, the seating gives the welcoming hall a warm, easy-going feel, inviting visitors to stop and take a seat.
The new design encourages a slower pace, encouraging passengers to browse the surrounding stores and cafes. “We now keep passengers near the shops and food outlets, and believe that is a great factor in increased sales,” says Gunnhildur Vilbergsdóttir, commercial manager, Keflavik International Airport.
