This project aimed to increase passenger satisfaction with seating at London Bridge Station, which was only 36% in the 2018 National Rail Passenger Survey. National Rail decided to increase the station's seating from 150 to 400. Partnering with Green Furniture Concept, they selected a wooden configuration with convenient built-in tables for laptops and coffee cups.
Nova C modular seating brings an earthy, warm element into the station. The curved seat design offers comfort and a pleasing aesthetic. Passenger satisfaction has increased to 80%—"the entire behavior pattern of the station has changed. People slow down, get a coffee, a newspaper and enjoy the waiting,” says Anthony Dewar, Head of Buildings and Architecture, Network Rail.
