Armchair - My Own Chair | Audo Copenhagen

Audo Copenhagen blends a century of Danish design tradition with a modern outlook, crafting furniture, lighting, and interior accessories that emphasize thoughtful details and bridge heritage with contemporary design. Audo presents My Own Chair, an anniversary re-launch of Flemming Lassen's iconic 1938 armchair.

In 1938, Flemming Lassen designed My Own Chair, which is a distinctive piece of mid-century Danish modern design. When it was first released, it received a lot of praise for its sculptural form with unique wings. However, its complex two-part silhouette made it unsuitable for mass production until modern techniques became available.

Audo re-launched the design and complemented its lumbar support, rounded angled seat, and extended backrest that provides great comfort to the sitter. Additionally, there is a corresponding My Own Chair Ottoman footstool that adds to the overall comfort. This chair was known to be Lassen's favorite and it remained in the designer's home until his passing in 1984.

• Solid oak or walnut is CNC milled and
  treated with an oiled finish
• Seat and backrest are made from curved plywood
• Seat consists of layered foam of different hardness with webbing/ belts and springs underneath
• Assembly is done by hand.
