Tactile's aluminum sheet and plate materials can be produced with a wide range of bespoke embossed, perforated, and etched patterns and textures. Tactile can post-apply a multitude of finishes including Tactile Anodized™, Tactile Ceramic Composite™, or more traditional organic coatings based on the application and desired aesthetic, for interior and exterior applications.
Formed sheet and plate aluminum are available in large modules and generally smooth tight surfaces. Tactile forming technologies include precision break forming, rolling, hydroforming, and variable hydraulic forming. Curvilinear shapes, as well as intersecting forms, can be joined to create seamless cladding elements. Tactile's formed aluminum sheets and plates are offered in ventilated rainscreen assemblies with open joinery, an integrated gutter system, and diverters, to route water down the system and mitigate soiling.
Composition
The formed aluminum sheet and plate cladding systems are available in a variety of alloys depending on the desired underlying character of the metal. Sheet materials start at 3.2 mm (1/8”) up to 4.76 mm (3/16”) and Tactile's plate materials range from 6 mm (1/4”) to 12.7 mm (1/2”). The formed cladding systems have an engineered pin system that allows the panels to expand and contract within the integrated gutter system. All exposed aluminum surfaces are finished with a wide variety of textures and finishes.
