More about this product

SunStyle is a pioneering company that has manufactured renewable energy solutions for over a decade. The SunStyle photovoltaic roof tiles were used to rehabilitate this eco-responsible property in Nice, France.

Application of Photovoltaic Modules

Located in the countryside inland from Nice, the Domaine de La Plume is a retreat focused on nature. Originally an 18th-century bourgeois residence, it now welcomes professional groups for seminars or individuals seeking a setting conducive to disconnection. The Domaine offers an experience that combines well-being, manual work, and learning at a permaculture farm school. At the pinnacle of the Domaine de La Plume is the Pavillon de La Penne, an open structure set on 9 hectares of land with views of the valley and the surrounding peaks of the Pré-Alpes d’Azur Regional Nature Park. Its renovation emphasizes eco-responsibility and sustainability, providing a permaculture farm school with hotel accommodations.

The old residence is equipped with a terracotta solar roof by SunStyle, integrating the photovoltaic tiles into the original architecture. The solar tiles produce decarbonized and renewable energy, advancing ecological transition. Manufactured in Châtellerault, France, the innovative SunStyle solar tiles cover the pavilion’s four-sided roof, while rainwater management via copper pipes. The 265 m² SunStyle solar roof has a capacity of 25 kW. The final setup includes active and inactive tiles arranged for a uniform aesthetic. The roof features a top layer of interlocking solar tiles and a waterproof underlay, sealed with waterproof joints for added weather protection. This technology allows the building to recover 80% of its electricity consumption. The 6 mm thick solar tile resembles a textured glass sheet, matching the color of traditional clay tiles.
