IIIIK INTO OY is a Nordic design and innovation company specializing in fire retardant contract textiles. The Archipelago collection from IIIK INTO OY was used in the Myyrmäki Residential Center for seniors in the City of Vantaa in Finland.
The Myyrmäki Residential Center is the biggest residential center in Finland, featuring multifunctional communal spaces as well as service and group housing. It was designed P&R Arkkitehdit Oy, with the goal of creating a fresh and cozy atmosphere for the staff and residents. Each level of the building is characterized by a monochromatic color scheme ranging from yellow, rusty red, purple, blue, turquoise, or green used throughout the floor, furniture, surface materials, and textiles. This approach created a distinct and unified identity for each floor, making it easier for residents to identify their home space.
The Archipelago fabrics were chosen by the interior design team from Design Desk to complement the color coding of the Myyrmäki residential center. The result is a safe and trend-setting furnishing with 100% fireproof Trevira CS upholstery fabric called JAKALA and the KENNO bed throw, which is part of the IIIIK INTO OY washable bedcover collection. This three-dimensional fabric is woven from high-quality materials that imitate the feel of linen. Given the importance of health and safety in a residential center for seniors, these fabrics offer functionality that most bedcovers do not. They are washable at 60°C degrees and become antibacterial after a wash in elevated temperatures.
IIIIK INTO OY fabrics are designed to be functional and they are available in waterproof, antimicrobial, and stain-resistant presentations. All versions have at least 80000 Martindale and fire classification test results. Their upholstery fabrics are produced using responsible, ecological, and ethical methods in Europe. IIIIK INTO OY is committed to developing decorative products that can be easily customized to meet the aesthetic requirements of each space, thereby shaping the living environments of the new decade.
