This hotel from the chain Aman is a 38-suite resort in Porto Heli, Greece, and it has claddings exclusively provided by the stone manufacturer and distributor Stonetech, which specializes in marbles and stones quarried in and around Greece.
Inspired by classic Greek architecture, the design allows for optimal views, with flat roofs supported by colonnades. The hotel is spread on a hill surrounded by olive trees, with views of the sea and buildings inspired by local history and architecture. Stone is the main material visible across the project, combined with the reflection and contrast from the pools and the Aegean Sea.
All of the guest’s needs are meant to be covered by the central buildings of the complex The Pavillion, which is home to a pool restaurant, a lounge bar, a library, a gym, a yoga and wellness center with spa amenities, plus a beach club in front of the bay.
The site covers a total area of 80.000 m2 and each suite has independent swimming pools, all clad in Verde India marble as its principal design element.
The interior of the main restaurant, also in the main structure of the site, has Aliveri Grigio and Silver Cloud marble on the walls and the tile floors. The outdoor floorings are clad with Sinai Pearl marble. This Sinai Pearl marble extends between the villages to connect them to indoor facilities, which are paved in large tiles of Silver Cloud marble. The spa also features a solid marble bathtub and a solid marble sink made of Verde India marble.
Fixed furnishings are custom-made of natural stones of Sinai Pearl and Silver Cloud. The walls have a smooth finished plaster as typical Greek homes, while certain alcoves are decorated with large panels of Sinai Pearl brushed and Silver Cloud marble in a honed and brushed finish.
