Bandalux specializes in developing, manufacturing, and marketing high-end curtains and blinds since 1986. Leddy Maytum Stacy Architects used Bandalux O-Box roller shades to protect the terrace at the Veranda Sun restaurant.
Leddy Maytum Stacy Architects designed the restaurant for The Lodge at the Golden Gate Hotel, situated at the northern end of the Golden Gate Bridge in historic Fort Baker. The project, Veranda Sun, was developed within the open porch of the traditional building, which required sun protection to enhance the user's comfort. The architects installed the Bandalux O-Box roller shade system with Polyscreen 350 fabric, creating an airy indoor-outdoor ambiance complemented by natural design elements. The design of Veranda Sun kept sustainability at the forefront, as evidenced by its LEED Gold certification, aligning with the use of Bandalux systems that provide solar protection for energetic efficiency.
Bandalux O-Box roller shades have a cylinder-shaped box made of weatherproof stainless steel components. Bandalux developed a versatile ceiling and wall-mount support system that is customizable for each project's requirements. This versatility enables installation on wall-shade façades or in tiered setups, where a single support can accommodate two shades. Moreover, the multiple channel systems ensure secure fastening of the fabric in outdoor environments.
