Siero Lam is a leading European manufacturer of chestnut wood and other high quality Woods products prioritizing customer service and circular economy principles. Different wood products from Siero Lam were used in the IMPLUVIUM, located in Cantabria, Spain.
IMPLUVIUM is a significant roof structure built atop the remnants of a former market destroyed by fire. Its facade, reminiscent of local architectural glazed galleries, is constructed entirely of wood and glass, maximizing natural light. Sweet chestnut wood lattice surrounds the building, moderating the light. The cultural center is designed to be a versatile public space for civic gatherings, emphasizing transparency and openness through its façades.
For this project, lattices and cladding, laminated scantlings, and wood cladding from Siero Lam were applied.
