Upholstered Benches at Sants Funeral Home | Sellex

Sellex is an international design and manufacturing company that crafts tailored furniture for public spaces. Spanish architectural firm, Mirag, Millet i Ramoneda, chose Sellex Upholstered Benches Aero to furnish their new Sants Funeral Home.

The construction of the new Sants Funeral Home in Barcelona, posed a notable challenge as it entailed the transformation of the historic Germans Climent factory into a modern funeral facility. The firm Mirag, Millet i Ramoneda, conceived the project as the construction of a building within another, preserving the essence of the original industrial structure dating back to 1925. The design team sought to maintain the original structure's integrity while transforming it into a functional and serene funeral home. The renovated space features a longitudinal layout with a corridor along the south facade that allows natural light to brighten the space and provides access to the wake rooms. The ceremony room, located at the pavilion's end, benefits from double-height ceilings and ample natural illumination. Light colors contrast with the warmth of the wooden roof. This central space was furnished using Sellex Upholstered Benches Aero.

When choosing the benches for the ceremony room, the firm sought a timeless design that would not compete with the space. Sellex Upholstered Benches Aero minimal frames are visually light, complementing the room. The product is finished in natural anodized aluminum, with upholstered white pads that cover the aluminum shell. The Aero Benches can be manufactured to fit from 2 to 7 places, each 62 cm.
