Jakob Rope System was used in Estadio Nacional Tennis Training Center in Santiago, Chile. The central court was transformed to meet international standards ahead of the Pan-American Games. Together with Jakob Rope Systems Latin America, the center aimed to position Chile as a sports benchmark in the region.
Renovation
With Chile set to host the upcoming Pan-American Games, there emerged a need to renovate and modernize several of the nation's sporting facilities. Two challenges were faced with this specific project. The first was to modernize the Central Court to accommodate 3,600 spectators, the second was to revamp the 13 surrounding courts for tennis, squash, and racquetball.
It was also crucial for the new perimeter fencing to have the following features
- Non-conventional
- Maintenance-free
- Long-lasting
- Capable of containing balls
- Minimal noise upon impact
- Prevention of unexpected rebounds
Jakob Rope Systems
The National Sports Institute requested that the equipment, including the nets and posts, mirror those used in the Hamburg ATP. Given these requirements, the Webnet© Micro mesh from Jakob was selected for the perimeter. The mesh has a 50mm diamond pattern and a 1.5mm cable diameter. The total fencing covers a surface of approximately 3,000 m2 throughout the complex. The material met both the technical specifications and modern aesthetic of the center.
