The wireless Gira KNX RF system can be installed in new and existing buildings without extensive renovation work. KNX is the worldwide standard for smart building technology and RF refers to radio frequency, i. e. connections via radio signal. Conventional KNX systems depend on special wired networks. With KNX RF, however, additional cabling isn’t necessary: the wireless Gira system can be retrofitted in existing buildings without tearing walls open.
Functionality
Most houses typically have the primary prerequisite for Gira KNX RF: a standard 230 V installation designed for switches or socket outlets. A local specialist partner assumes responsibility for on-site installation. In this process, the Gira System 3000 serves as the foundation. The initiation and configuration processes are also conducted via wireless transmission. Through a USB stick functioning as the data interface, installers are capable of configuring and enabling the system within the residence.
Gira X1
In conjunction with the Gira X1, users have access to a wide range of choices for customizing the system to their specific requirements. The server integrates into KNX Smart Homes through the RF media coupler for KNX. The installation process is handled by a specialist partner.
Wireless RF Operating Units
To ensure seamless integration into homes and the installation of switches on walls without power supply lines, a battery-operated RF pushbutton sensor for KNX is available as an elegant solution. This versatile sensor can be mounted on a wide range of surfaces, including stone, concrete, wood, glass, and furniture. It provides intuitive control over lighting, blinds, and heating. Like the RF operating top unit for KNX, it forms part of the Gira System 55 and is therefore compatible with a variety of frame variants from the Gira design lines, making it an ideal choice for those who appreciate a meticulously coordinated interior.
Smart Control
Switching, dimming, and activating pre-programmed scenes can be achieved from any room without the need for an additional power supply line. The new Gira RF wall transmitter 2-gang for KNX enables this functionality, boasting a maximum range of 100 meters and running on an integrated battery with a lifespan of up to five years. KNX Secure ensures the protection of personal data from unauthorized manipulation.
This wall transmitter functions like a standard switch and can be mounted on glass surfaces or countertops, just like the RF pushbutton sensor for KNX. Retrofitting requires no additional electrical installation. As a part of the Gira System 55, the 2-gang version can be paired with frames from the Gira design lines, offering a range of materials and colors to suit any interior style.
Remote Control
The battery-operated, hand-held Gira RF transmitters for KNX make Smart Home control particularly comfortable. With these mobile devices, any function can be activated from any room to dim the lights, adjust indoor temperatures, or start customized scenes created and saved beforehand.
Security
Personal data remains protected against unauthorized access in KNX RF Smart Homes. KNX Secure, the world’s first independent security standard for connected building technology, fully covers the integrity, authentication, encryption, and topicality of all transmitted data.
