Patterned Douglas wooden flooring from Dinesen was used in a historical residence. Situated in Ladbroke Square Gardens in London, Lansdowne Road house stands in contrast to the typical row houses. Recently grand historic building was renovated and restored.
House Design
The architect behind the renovation Undercover Architecture took extra care in preserving and restoring the original and distinctive details of the house such as the large windows, wall paneling, and plaster ceiling. The finished result is a modern home with hints of bespoke details throughout the house. This was possible through the choice of materials, including brass and marble combined with the warmth of the wooden flooring from Dinesen.
Douglas Floor
The Douglas planks are laid in the historic chevron pattern. Using larger plank dimensions than its original form, the pattern takes on new dimensions and creates a unique aesthetic. It is a modern solution that shows respect for history and takes on a contemporary and exclusive appearance by virtue of its proportions.
