Metal Wire Mesh for Interiors in VGM Building | Cascade Architectural

For decades, Cascade Coil’s architectural systems have been specified for interior designs. The company provided 3,582 sq. ft. of aluminum Fabricoil^® for the expansion of VGM Group Headquarters, located in Waterloo, Iowa.

The main focus of the project is the tall, open space in the middle of the building, which has wooden panels with vertical lights, white ceilings, columns, curved balconies, and a glass elevator. When the design of the inside was almost done, the team wanted to connect the outside look with the inside. For this, Kate Payne, Managing Architect at INVISION, chose aluminum Fabricoil^® finished in Antique Copper.

The team chose 5/16” and 15-gauge Fabricoil^® at 15% fullness and paired it with Cascade Coil’s sturdy and reliable Galvanized Secura Track attachment system, which features nylon wheel bumper carriers. The enormous continuous metal mesh curtain stretches a full five stories tall, ultimately becoming the perfect finishing touch for the VGM Group Headquarters

Cascade Coil's architectural mesh was also installed in a primary staircase – bolted along the risers to serve as fall protection while brightening the space and carrying the unique antique copper tones into the stairwell.
