Lutron creates architectural lighting controls and automated shading solutions. Lutron’s Quantum lighting control system, paired with the myRoom guestroom solution, and Palladiom architectural blinds were used in The Ritz Carlton, a luxury hotel occupying thirteen floors in Mexico City’s second-tallest tower.
The Ritz-Carlton’s newly constructed Chapultepec One is a 58-story modern tower that rises like a slice of glass, steel, and light into the city’s skyline. It offers unrivaled, panoramic views of this incredible location, while its interior is a showcase of opulence and amenities fitting the next generation of five-star hospitality.
In a space where the value of interior and exterior views is at a premium, lighting control is an effective tool in making the most of every vantage point, day and night. To ensure that the lighting is always perfect at every floor-to-ceiling window or to create interior lighting scenes that maximize the guests visual needs and comforts, The Ritz-Carlton uses Lutron lighting control systems in the public areas and guestrooms.
Lutron’s Quantum lighting control system manages the lights throughout the hotel’s public spaces and coordinates the light levels with the ample daylight available in this glass tower, without relying upon active monitoring from staff and facilities personnel. The Quantum lighting control system installed in The Ritz Carlton, equipped with an astronomic time clock (ATC), synchronizes light levels with local sunrise and sunset, guaranteeing the perfect amount of light that fills the hotel at all times and during all seasons.
In the guestrooms, the myRoom guestroom management solution allows light, temperature, and shade control to converge into a single system that can be changed from one keypad. MyRoom allows the creation of welcome scenes, one for an afternoon arrival and one for an evening arrival, that are activated automatically upon every guest’s check-in. In addition, when the rooms are empty, the hotel can activate energy-efficient settings improving its sustainability.
The guestrooms also have been appointed in a palette of dusty blues and grays to complement the sprawling city views. The design team chose the Palladiom wallstation for the guestroom lighting, temperature, and shade control for of its sleek and intuitive design. The wallstations were placed by the bedside, in the bathroom, near the entry, and near the window, offering guests convenient control of their environment from a well-crafted and guest-friendly keypad.
