Placed in the new development area of London Island, close to Canary Wharf or The O2 Arena, a car park linked to the London Film School offers a parking space for visitors, and includes the courts of the London Technology Institute courts above it. Following the high-end red-glazed ceramic treatments in surrounding buildings, the architects at Glenn Howells used the Flexbrick curtain system to create a customized crossed pattern, relating to the symbols of London City.
The result allows for the entry of natural light and ventilation with the use of the fireproof, highly durable, and dry-installed sunscreen. It also provided an economic advantage due to its fast installation only taking a couple of weeks as well as avoiding the need for extra mechanical ventilation of the building.
