The conference space at Palais an der Oper in Munich is historically protected and requires versatility for different uses. To address this, Solarlux's Highline Bi-Folding Door was used as a partition to combine two or all three conference rooms into one, while the entire opera hall remains available for larger events.
All three individual installations feature the same number of glass elements, which fold away to the left and right inside the respective room, following an accordion principle. If the bi-folding doors are to remain closed, the glass entrance door on the right side of the room provides access. Thanks to the smooth functioning and outstanding practicality of the system, the opera hall can host many different events.
The triple glazing of the Bi-Folding Door makes them exceptionally solid for use as partitions and provides the necessary sound insulation. Aesthetically, the elegant, high-quality all-glass look of the bi-folding doors strikes a modern contrast with the historic architecture of the conference space. The flat glass surface on the outside appears virtually frameless, adding to the sleek and contemporary feel of the space.
Overall, the Highline Bi-Folding Door provided the perfect solution for the conference space at Palais an der Oper, allowing for flexibility and versatility while maintaining the historical integrity of the building.
