Bandalux has been manufacturing high-end curtains and blinds since 1986. Vertical blinds from Bandalux were used in the transformation of the former Philips Lighting headquarters into housings, in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
The design studio Diederendirrix was in charge of this project. They preserved the identity of the building, keeping its structure while developing a new facade for efficiency and comfort.
The facade plays with light and incorporates horizontal sliding windows framing the horizon around the building. The result is the evocation of the former horizontality of the original building.
Bandalux’s vertical blinds introduce a new scale into each loft and apartment, acting as the interior decoration element in a context where the industrial style prevails. They were chosen for their easy orientation, light management, and ability to enhance the high ceiling.
